From Corbières-Boutenac, one of the Languedoc's finest cru, comes this top class organic wine which shows the beautiful concentration of old vine Carignan with supporting roles played by Mourvedre and Syrah.

Production

A delightful series of small hills, where the vineyards are surrounded by pine forests and scrublands, Gasparets is a hamlet of a few souls and a haven of peace. In 1711, the Fabre family moved into one of the finest vineyards in the Languedoc, which was recognised as premier cru - Corbières-Boutenac. Old Carignan Noir vines together with Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre are picked by hand from 30 hl/ha plot. Whole bunch vinification in cuve before being assembled to mature together for 12 months in French oak barrels. Long maceration (20 days) for the Syrah and Mourvèdre.

  • Meet the producer

The Fabre Family have been producing wine in one way or another for over four hundred years. In 1711, the family settled in Gasparets, near Narbonne, in the Aude department of France. Louis Fabre is head of the family concern, which now includes five estates, having taken the reins in 1982. From 2014 he has been joined by a new generation, his daughters and niece: Clémence, Paule and Jeanne, respectively in charge of export sales, accounting and oenotourism.

Since 1991, Famille Fabre has been converted to organic viticulture and today 100% of its vineyards are certified organic, producing concentrated, flavoursome wines with genuine provenance.
