Production

Sourced from the family "Corryton Burge" vineyard in the Eden Valley where the cool microclimate is ideal from growing premium Cabernet Sauvignon. Timely rain and and Indian Summer slowed the pace of ripening allowing flavours and tannin structure to develop. The resulting harvest meant smaller berries of intense flavour and colour, along with excellent tannins and natural acidity.

After completing malolactic fermentation in barrel the wine then remained in oak for a total of 22 months. 100% French oak, 25% of which was new.

  • Tasting notes

Above all things we believe in family. Our roots run deep, with generation coming from key wine growing regions of Australia. As a passionate amateur war historian our Father often likes to share his war knowledge. His passion stemmed from our forbearers who fought for our country, a fact that has instilled in us a sense of pride. That sense of pride is also felt for our Father's winemaking career. As a leader discovering the microclimate best suited to Barossan Cabernet Sauvignon we felt there was no better name to represent our father. Vibrant black fruit and cassis aromas are layered with hints of spice, chocolate and leather. Refined dark berry and cassis flavours give way to a rich creamy mid-palate and fine tannins.
