A ripe unoaked chardonnay with real depth, The relatively high vineyard produces grapes with freshness and acidity
Production
Senorio de Sarria Chardonnay is produced from around 20ha of Chardonnay vines, over 20 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand and machine during September and October. The grapes are pressed by pneumatic press and the resulting must is left in contact with the skins during the brief maceration in stainless steel tanks. The must is then extracted and cooled for 16 hours to aid natural clarification. The clean must is decanted and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel at 16 degrees C for 12-15 days.

Meet the producer
Bodega de Sarría lies on a large and beautiful estate in Valdizarbe, in the hills above Puente la Reina, near Pamplona. Situated amongst 1,000 hectares of forest, the 210 ha of vineyard consists mainly of south-facing slopes at 400-500m altitude, planted primarily with Tempranillo, Graciano (the most extensive plantings of the variety in Spain), Garnacha, Cabernet, Merlot, Mazuelo and Chardonnay.
Founded in 1953, Sarria was one of the pioneers of quality winemaking in Navarra. Some vineyard areas date back to then, and even their youngest vines are now over 20 years old. The range excels in all areas - including the complex and spicy Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva.
