Looking for suitable white wine varieties as well as tackling Rutherglen’s changing climate, Natasha Killeen (1988, 7th Gen) researched Portuguese varieties extensively and chose three to plant in Rutherglen, Arinto, Alvarinho and Antão Vaz. The first two were planted successfully in 2015 with Antão Vaz planted in September 2020.

Tasting notes
Bright green straw. Freshly picked white flowers and sweet nectarine. Opens with a lively palate, fresh acidity that has an outstanding balance between minerality and fruit: Stone fruit and lime with a hint of tropical fruit. Fresh and lengthy finish.
Food match
Arinto compliments seafood, duck or simply a picnic in the summer sunshine. Drink young and chilled
