The latest addition to the Wild House range is a fine, lightly oaked Chardonnay from Paarl.
Production
Curated in the usual Wild House fashion, 'lazy winemaking' as JD calls it. The grapes, from a single vineard in Paarl, are gently crushed and naturally fermented, with no additions. 80 % in tank, 20% in older French oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation. This is followed by 9 months ageing on fine lees. No fining and coarse filtration.
Wild House Chardonnay, Western Cape 2023 (6 bottles case)
Tasting notes
A fresh, expressive nose with bright citrus and stonefruit aromas combining with lightly oaky notes. The palate is ripe and textural, the bright fruit balanced by taut acidity and savoury, toasty notes from long lees ageing and subtle oak influence.
Food match
Highly versatile, a variety of fish, vegetable and white meat dishes.

Meet the producer
Wild House is a lifestyle range which reflects a place of raw energy, a weather-beaten hut exposed to the storm-swept slopes of the Cape's mountains. Inspired by the ever-shifting views of the landscape and weather from each aspect of the house, we crafted this range of wines to reflect the land we call home.
